Legend of Spyro: The Lost War

New York City, "the city that never sleeps" as some called it, was a metropolis of lights, buildings, and people coming and going, cars zooming past on the roads, and the regular nightlife of the city at its best. On one of the streets in the suburban area, a young boy, no older than eight years old, was walking down the sidewalk with a wooden staff to support his body. He panted and sweat dripped from his face from the effort, until he saw a house in front of him.

The boy sighed with relief and made his way to the front door, he knocked on it. The door opened and the boy covered his eyes from the light with his hand and looked at the face of his uncle, who had a surprised and shocked look on his face.

"Mark…you're alive…" he whispered.

The boy, Mark as he was called, nodded.

"Glad you still remember me…Uncle" Mark said in a soft, let rasped voice.

His uncle ushered him inside and Mark sat down in a chair, "I heard about what happened…sorry…" he said. Mark looked down and his uncle saw the tired look in his eyes, "Get some sleep," he said to him.

Mark nodded and hobbled to an open door in the hallway. He put the staff on the side of the bed and sat on the edge of it. He took out a ruby amulet from his neck and looked at it, "Guys…mom…dad…" he muttered. "I'll make them pay…I'll make them pay!" he growled and looked up, his brown eyes turning into red ones.

Prologue: 5 years later

In an alley, a bunch of bullies were beating up two people. One was Mark, now age 13, and the other was his older brother Revan, age 19, with blonde hair slicked back and brown eyes like his brother. They were now proceeding to get their asses beat by the bullies until after a few minutes they got bored and left.

"I'm…so gonna kill them…" Mark wheezed as he got up from the ground.

"Then why didn't you do that when they were beating you up?" Revan asked calmly.

Mark didn't answer that question but stumbled up, using the wall as support, as his brother got up.

"Uncle's going to be so mad at us," Mark moaned.

"Let's hope he's in a good mood," Revan replied.

The brothers made their way down the alley and into some sunlight, they limped past a store but Mark suddenly saw something about the store and back-tracked to get a better look.

"Brother…" Mark called to Revan. Revan walked to his brother as Mark pointed above him to a sign.

The sign was in red neon that said 'Devil May Cry' with a man with a large sword bigger than his body and pointing a gun at the end of the sign.

"Devil May Cry…" Mark said as he read the sign.

"Isn't that the shop Dante owns?" he asked his brother.

"Don't even think about it, you're too young and you have school," Revan said.

"Aw man and I just wanted to see if we could get some cash for ourselves and uncle while working here, besides, we could use the training," Mark said.

Revan hummed, they did need the money for themselves and their uncle, not to mention they needed someone to teach them more sword techniques, plus with the demons that chased them, they really needed the help taking them down.
Mark looked at the door and noticed it said, 'Closed due to cleaning' on it.

"Damn, so much for that," Mark muttered.

But just as he was turning around he heard the door open. He quickly made a turn around and was now looking at a girl wearing a blue maid's dress and a mop in her hands who was staring at him. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, she looked almost like a kid but Mark felt like she was a bit mature for her age.

"Who are you? And if you can read the sign we're closed," the girl said.

"Sorry, we were just passing by and were wondering if Dante was here," Revan replied.

"He's not here right now, he's on a mission and won't be back for a while," the girl said.

"Oh…okay, thanks anyway," Mark said and walked off with Revan behind him. Mark then stopped when he realized something about that girl, "Hey, you wouldn't happen to be Patty Lowell would you?" Mark asked the girl. His answer came with a nod and a smile from the girl.

"Yep, you heard of me?" she asked.

"Yeah, lots of people were talking about a girl who was supposed to have been involved with the Abigail incident, crazy shit man, crazy shit," Mark said.

Revan nodded, "Yeah, we heard about it from the news," Revan said. Patty looked at the two boys, or rather, one man and a teenager, "Hmm, I'll see if I can tell Dante about you two when he gets back, but then again, with Lady and Trish it may take a while," she said.

"Cool, thanks," Mark said and walked off to their home with Revan.

"H-Hey wait, you never told me your names!" she called to them but they were out of earshot to hear her.

"Men," she mumbled.
And here's the beginning of my newest Spyro story "Legend of Spyro: the Lost War" which serves as the Prequel story i promised. Although this also is a crossover with Devil May Cry, it takes place after DMC 2, but keeps the DMC 4 Dante.

Anyway DK Mark, Revan, and any other characters belong to me

Patty Lowell, Morrison, and Dnate and the others in DMC belong to Capcom.
